Ballooning…is that even a word? Oh well, you get the point! This was actually a birthday surprise for my husband since I wanted to make his birthday memorable, somehow. Initially I was thinking of skydiving, another thing on our bucket list but he is terrified of that. He won’t get away though…at some point in the future he will go skydiving with me 🙂
The best time to go on a balloon flight is either early in the morning or in the evening, when the wind is not too weak, so the balloon can take off but not to strong either so you won’t be taken too far. We choose to go on an evening flight, the perfect end to a gorgeous and sunny day.

Getting ready!
We’ve started off by helping the crew prepare the balloon and inflate it, check everything was ready and in a matter of seconds we were of! When we’ve asked the captain which way will we go he simply replied we’ll go wherever the wind will take us. That wasn’t scary at all! The funny thing is that every time the team goes on a balloon flight, they end up in a totally different place.

Ballooning over the British countryside
Surprisingly, after the balloon took off and we got higher and higher the atmosphere was so quiet and peaceful. It is a lot to take in…the view is breathtaking! Being able to witness a gorgeous sunset over a glass of champagne with your loved one is a beautiful experience.

Well, now it’s time to tick this off our bucket list. Onto the next one! 🙂
