Hi guys, I spent quite a bit of time lately scanning the internet for the latest ‘internet marketing strategies’ and what the most well known on-line entrepreneurs are up to lately in order to put together a little 3 steps process on what is takes to start an internet marketing business in today’s economical climate. I realised not much changed since my last ‘investigation'(a few months back) and that setting up an online business is still fairly simple.
In order to start an Internet Marketing Business, we first need to understand what internet marketing is. In my opinion, Internet Marketing is simply put, the process of finding, segmenting and contacting the targeted customers through the use of latest internet based strategies and technologies.
The internet was a game changer for all businesses, by switching from offline to online marketing strategies people increased their sales while reducing marketing costs. So, if you’re not online, you’re missing out big time and you may soon see your competitors getting the upper hand.
If you are however, part of those who took action on the online marketing front and are familiar with how things go on this plane field, you may want to consider starting your very own internet marketing business. Why would you? … simple, it doesn’t require a huge financial investment(just your marketing costs) and potential profits are huge. Here’s a free introduction course on how to start!
The main 3 steps to keep in mind while developing an internet marketing business didn’t change, it’s just a matter of getting very good at each individual step:
Step 1: Getting Traffic
There are quite a few ways of generating targeted traffic to your site. Many start-up online entrepreneurs try to cover all avenues when it come to traffic but most business focus on a maximum of two or three of the below techniques. Trying to do to much can work against you and instead of mastering a technique, you result in being a beginner to average on all of them and not getting those all desired clicks.
Ways to drive traffic: Adwords(PPC), SEO, Solo Ads, Banner Ads, Social Media Campaigns, etc
Step 2: Converting
After you get all that traffic knocking at your door what you need to do is convert, make a sale! At this stage you should go with a front end offer that’s usually under $30. The main purpose for the font end offer should be not the financial gain(that’s also good of course) but the potential future relationship which you can develop with the customer. If done right, over time that paying customer can convert again and again on more expensive products.
Step 3: Selling High Margin Items
As hinted in step 2, it is way easier to sell to an already paying customer than it is to a new prospect. When you develop a relationship with a customer and you offer great value for a relatively small amount(the front end offer) he will be inclined to buy again even if your back end product is considerably more expensive. This strategy is based on just a segment converting on the backed products however this can generate a margin hundreds of time bigger then the front end product.
If it’s as easy as you say why isn’t everybody doing it? … you may ask. Well, while at a concept level it’s fairly simple to comprehend, taking the massive action required in order to make things happen is what stops people in their tracks. You need to constantly invest in it for a few months before you start seeing results but sadly most that try become discouraged when they don’t see the short time returns and wrongly assume ‘it’ doesn’t work and quit.
Enjoy your journey,
Marius
