Feeling rich in life means more than just having enough money in your bank account, it’s about being fulfilled in all aspects of your life. It all starts with your mindset, if you are optimistic and feel gratitude for what you already have, you’re on the right track.
It took me quite a while, a few people and a few more books to open my mind and think the way I do today. I used to be very stubborn and quick on reactions, I didn’t listen and always discarded any opinion which was different from mine without even considering it first.
What I found really interesting is the fact that all great books that teach you from business to religion to health seem to point to the same success profile. All successful people have a similar attitude towards life – again, successful from all points of view, not just finances. I made a list of what I think the core parts of that profile are so read on…
Stop using negative phrases
When you say to yourself you cannot do something or will never achieve your goals, you have effectively shut the door on progress. You need to approach goals with the confidence that you will clear all hurdles in due time and you will. Whatever your mind will conceive, you’ll achieve. You can put a positive spin on things just by wording it differently, for example: somebody is not ill ->he’s unwell, you don’t hate something->you dislike it, you didn’t fail->you didn’t achieve …and so on.
Show gratitude
It can be important to remind yourself of how far you have come and what you already have in possession. Look around your world and make a list of things and people you appreciate. A grateful mindset by nature will spark more optimism in your daily life since gratitude is one of the core elements of true happiness. Think about the person you appreciate and that helped you most, pick up the phone and tell him/her how they changed your life, see how you feel afterwords. That’s happiness!
Stay positive
When you wake up, smile! Try to look for a beneficial element in each situation, no matter how bad something may seem at the time. A challenge needs to be viewed as a learning experience that will help you in the future when faced with a similar issue. Try to marginalise all negative things and people from your life. Become allergic to all that’s negative!
Stop waiting and start doing
Putting plans into motion can help lift your optimism, much like beginning a new job search and polishing your résumé. Make a list of goals (split big goals in smaller easier to achieve ones) and set realistic deadlines. You will gain momentum and more confidence every time you hit a goal. Don’t wait for the perfect time to start something, it’s very likely that tine will never come.
Live in the now
While planning for the future is good, don’t forget to live in the present. People do have a tendency to live in the future thinking they’ll live their dream lifestyle when the time will be just right. Think about what you are doing that takes your mind of the present. Try to find and do things that are active in the moment, go somewhere nice with your family, play football with your kids, do some gardening, literally whatever you can think of. So get off the computer and live the moment after reading this!
I hope you’ll keep in mind these wealthy mindset tips going further, they did wonders for me!
To your success,
Marius
